The Boys Season 4’s Pattinson Batman Parody Conceals an Outrageously Gross Joke

The Boys isn’t shy when it comes to including crude humor, but it does employ subtlety that means some could go unnoticed, like Tek Knight’s Batman joke in season 4, episode 5. The Boys originally started as a comic series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. In 2019, Supernatural creator, Eric Kripke debuted his new series, The Boys, on Amazon Prime Video to incredible acclaim. Since then, the show has been a flagship series, delivering outstanding critical commentary and parody of politics and popular culture that delights and excites fans.

Then, in 2023, the world of The Boys expanded with a new spin-off series, Gen V. The spin-off works in tandem with the original show, developing new heroes and plot points, while offering insight to some less explored heroes, like Tek Knight. During Gen V season 1, one grotesque detail about Tek Knight is revealed that provides a disturbing insight into the character which is only now being referenced in The Boys.

In The Boys season 4, episode 5, “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son,” Tek Knight announces his new movie, stating; “The Tek Knight plumbs a whole new pit of a darkness.” This is a reference to The Batman, and builds on the connection between the two billionaire tech genius characters that indulge in vigilante justice. However, Tek Knight is also hinting at a darker secret that is a key part of the character’s personality, and one that was first revealed in Gen V.

Tek Knight has a somewhat unusual sexual fetish. He becomes extremely aroused by any kind of hole, from knots in trees, to pipes, and anything else he comes in contact with. This leads to some awkward and unusual situations in Gen V, and it appears Tek Knight is carrying the behavior over into the main show. While the behavior is bizarre, The Boys has seen supes engage in all sorts of weird fetishized behavior in various scenes and scenarios, but Tek Knight’s proclivity goes deeper… literally.

Tek Knight is one of the characters in The Boys that has a direct comparison to DC Comics big three. Homelander is a parody of Superman, Queen Maeve is the parody of Wonder Woman, and Tek Knight is The Boys’ version of Batman. While he is considerably more depraved in The Boys, the comics actually reveal a hidden factor that contributed to Tek Knight’s sexual promiscuity. In the comics, Tek Knight is known for his incessant need to have sex with both people and inanimate objects on a regular basis.

The Boys has seen supes engage in all sorts of weird fetishized behavior in various scenes and scenarios, but Tek Knight’s proclivity goes deeper… literally.

Tek Knight dies dreaming that he saved the world from an asteroid by vigorously humping the giant space boulder until it exploded, while in reality, he was killed by a falling wheelbarrow. When his body is autopsied, they uncover that Tek Knight had a brain tumor which caused him to act out of character, and this is indicated as the reason behind his questionable behavior. However, like all the supes, Tek Knight was already a pretty twisted character in The Boys, and his tumor only served to make him more of an outcast.
