Taylor Swift has seemingly thrown shade at fans who gather outside her old apartment in New York, with scathing lyrics uncovered from a song on The Tortured Poets Department.
The hitmaker, 34, released her 11th studio album earlier this month, with fans still decoding the lyrics and making sense of each of the 31 tracks. One of the tracks on the album, Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? sees Taylor sing about rumours about her professional and personal life in a very confrontational way.
Fans have now “uncovered” how some of the lyrics seemingly throw shade at Taylor’s fans who often gather and take photos outside of her old apartment on Cornelia Street, which is where she is thought to have spent a lot of time with her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn in the beginning stages of their relationship.

And now, in TTPD’s track Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me?, Taylor seemingly throws shade at the fans who flock to her old home on Cornelia Street when she croons: “I wanna snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me / You wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me / So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs.”
She also sings: “That I’ll sue you if you step on my lawn That I’m fearsome and I’m wretched and I’m wrong / Putting narcotics into all of my songs / And that’s why you’re still singing along.”
Taking to Twitter, now known as X, to discuss the possibility of the lyrics alluding to and referencing the fascination with her old apartment, fans of the hitmaker have shared their theories. One person wrote: “‘So all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs’… Yall have got to stop obsessing over Cornelia Street bc Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me breaks my gd heart a hundred times.”
Another echoed: “so all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs – SHES TALKING ABOUT THE HOUSE AT CORNELIA STREET RIGHT (also lowkey throwing shade at all the stalkers love that).” And a third penned: “Okay but what if the line ‘so all you kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs ’ has something to do with people always going to Cornelia Street…”
A fourth then penned: “So all your kids can sneak into my house with all the cobwebs YOU MEAN CORNELIA STREET BECAUSE IT’S FAMOUS AND NOT HERS BUT STILL HAUNTED BY HER NOW????????????????????????????????????” And a fifth said: “Is she saying ‘so you kids can go to my house with all the cobwebs?’ in reference to people going to Cornelia Street because I keep thinking that but I also haven’t had time to analyse lyrics.”
Taylor Swift fans looking at resale tickets for the upcoming Eras Tour in the UK can purchase them from a number of online retailers right now. Although sellers, including viagogo and Vivid Seats, are not “official” retailers, they do have a number of strict terms and conditions in place to keep ticket buyers and ticket sellers safe.
