Taylor Swift Fanbase Swept Up in ‘Tortured Poets Department’ Leak Hysteria

The Swifties are out for (bad) blood.

Taylor Swift fans went into a frenzy Wednesday over alleged leaks from her forthcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which is set to be released Friday.

According to the Daily Mail, the snippets were allegedly taken from a Google Drive link, which contained 17 different songs. Swift, 34, previously confirmed that her 11th studio album would contain that number of tracks.

Fans of the Grammy winner were divided over whether the songs were real or created from artificial intelligence.

Others urged the real Swifties to report the leaks and not listen to them.

“Tip: Turn Your Device’s Volume COMPLETELY OFF on Twitter for the NEXT 24 HRS and REPORT EVERY POST spamming about album leaks! We got this!” tweeted one die-hard fan.

“It’s not a Taylor Swift album release if you don’t have fake ass ‘Swifties’ spreading leaks because they can’t wait one day to listen to the project … pathetic,” added another.

“Please do not spread the leak of Taylor Swift’s new album. Remember, this is Taylor’s work, respect it, just like you would your favorite artist. Don’t punish the artist for how their fans behave,” wrote a third user.

Page Six reached out to Swift’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Ahead of her album’s highly anticipated release Friday, Swift teamed up with Spotify for a special “library installation” at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Fans first learned about the “Tortured Poets Department” when the “Cruel Summer” singer announced the album while onstage at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

“My brand-new album comes out April 19. It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’” she said while accepting the Grammy for best pop vocal album.

The project’s title appears to be a shady nod to a boys-only group text Swift’s ex Joe Alwyn had with his friends Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott, titled the “The Tortured Man Club.”

The pop star’s fans believe the lyrics, “Even statues crumble / If they’re made to wait,” are about the “Conversations with Friends” actor, 33, whom she dated for more than six years.
