THE MUCH anticipated Met Gala is not only an occasion to debut some of fashion’s hottest new looks.

It’s also a big opportunity to debut some of the hottest new celebrity couples.

Many a new love have chosen to make their relationships “red carpet official” at the Met Gala.

And this year, all eyes will be on the lookout for the world’s biggest new couple: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

A source close to Travis’ entourage told The U.S. Sun that the couple are indeed on the gala guest list.

The 2024 Met Gala, which takes place on Monday, May 6, would mark the “it” couple’s official first red carpet appearance.

But Swifties may want to slow their hopes down.

“The Met Gala is a massive event, but the plan is to not go as they want to enjoy the maximum time they have before the start of the Euro tour,” the source told the U.S. Sun.

“They are loving to just relax, spend time together, and stay at Taylor’s residencies to just enjoy being together and get a well-deserved rest.”

Taylor, who has notably been absent from the Met Gala since 2016, has a well-documented history with the biggest night in fashion.

In her last appearance, she attended with her then-boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston. She was also rumored to have met her now ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, at that same event, and the two dated for six years.

However, other celebrity couples have used the red carpet to debut, and show off, their love for each other – even if it wasn’t everlasting.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott made their fashion event debut as a couple in 2018, just a few months after the birth of their daughter Stormi Webster that February.

The couple looked cute in matching black outfits, as they held hands, cuddled, and kissed on the cheek.

The pair continued to go strong after their daughter’s birth, attending the 2018 and 2019 Met Galas together.

They would have an on-and-off relationship over the next several years, including welcoming son Aire in 2022.

However, their relationship was over for good (for now) less than a year later.

Singer Katharine McPhee and record producer David Foster first met on American Idol in 2006, when she was a contestant and he was a guest mentor.

After lingering questions, the two confirmed their relationship while on the red carpet together in 2018.

Katharine showed off in a sheer blue dress by Georges Chakra Couture from their spring/summer collection.

David kept it casual in a formal black tux.

A year later, the two became engaged and tied the knot soon after.

They welcomed a baby boy into the world in February 2021.

Selena Gomez and her then-boyfriend, The Weeknd, made their official debut as a couple in 2017.

And they couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they smiled for photos together.

In one tender moment, smitten Selena was seen snuggling into her beau, while in another it was him smothering her in kisses.

Selena was even spotted whispering, “I love you,” to The Weeknd as they walked the carpet.

They seemed to support each other, especially during Selena’s kidney transplant, but by October, the relationship had run its course.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra first met a week before the 2017 Met Gala and would walk the red carpet as friends.

The would-be duo were both guests of Ralph Lauren and dressed in the designer’s duds.

Priyanka shined in a beige custom-made trench coat evening dress with a massive train.

Nick was dapper in a black-and-white art deco tuxedo.

They would go on to the 2018 Gala together, as their romance blossomed.

Nick and Priyanka would be married by the end of the year.

Alex Rodriguez hit a home run when he showed up to the Gala with Jennifer Lopez in 2017.

JLo and ARod first met in 2005 at a baseball game she had attended with her then-husband, Marc Anthony.

They confirmed their romance when they were spotted out wearing matching outfits while making their red carpet debut more than a decade later.

Jen wore a sky-blue Valentino gown with a sheer top, while Alex complimented her in a black and blue tuxedo.

The pair were engaged in 2019 but called it quits back in 2021 after four years of dating.

Jennifer is now married to her ex-boyfriend, Ben Affleck.
