Shocking The Walking Dead Reunion at Sundance 2025: Pollyanna McIntosh, Steven Yeun, and Austin Amelio Together Again!

Many Walking Dead universe actors are featured at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The 2025 Sundance Film Festival began on Jan. 23 at The Park in Park City, Utah, and continues until Feb. 2. The event is the largest indie film fest in the United States that is hosted by the Sundance Institute, a non-profit founded by Robert Redford to support independent artists. This year, several TWDU alums are featured in films at the festival. This led to a fun reunion of Pollyanna McIntosh, Austin Amelio, and Steven Yeun.

McIntosh, who married Bobcat Goldthwait in 2023, posted photos from Sundance on social media with one highlighting her reunion with Amelio and Yeun. (click link to view images)

McIntosh mentions Yeun’s latest movie, Bubble and Squeak, a drama written and directed by Evan Twohy. The story follows a married couple suspected of smuggling cabbages, who are pursued by border agents. Yeun stated in an interview atVariety’s panel at Sundance that it was a well-titled email that caught his attention, leading to him being cast in the role. Yeun stated, “It had this wonderful script. I read it and thought it was so bold and such a wild swing — something that I’d never read before.”

McIntosh viewed the screening of Bubble and Squeak on Jan. 24 as part of the U.S. Dramatic Competition of Sundance 2025. She remarked that the film that also stars Himesh Patel, Sarah Goldberg, and Dave Franco. was a pleasure to watch.

Amelio is in attendance at Sundance this year for his new film, Bunnylovr. Written and directed by Katarina Zhu, who also stars, the movie also features roles by Perry Yung, Rachel Sennott, Jack Kilmer and Clara Wong. Bunnylovr follows a Chinese American cam girl who tries to mend her broken relationship with her dying father while she manages a toxic relationship with a client. This film premiered at the festival on Jan. 25 as part of the U.S. Dramatic Competition.

Amelio portrays the client in the film and discusses his role below.

McIntosh is at Sundance celebrating Em & Selma Go Griffin Hunting, a short indie film about mothers and daughters and the beasts they hunt. The film premiered on Jan. 26 in the Midnight Short Film Program and is directed and written by Alex Thompson. McIntosh stars with Milly Shapiro (Hereditary, Hysteria!). The official description reads: An allegorical 1930’s-set fable about mothers and daughters and the beasts they hunt.
