The fact that Daryl has been in the most episodes isn’t that much of a surprise. He quickly became everyone’s favorite red-neck when he first appeared in season 1. He suffered significant losses throughout his story and underwent a drastic transition to becoming a leader among the group.

Carol Peletier – Melissa McBride – 124 episodes

McBride has done an extraordinary job in her portrayal of Carol. She was introduced in season 1 and is another character who transformed into a survivor. She took her place as a leader in the communities and has always been the one person to tackle the tough choices and follow through with action.

Maggie ended up being the only surviving member of her family, losing her father and sister and eventually her husband. Luckily she had a son to soften the blow of such tragic loss.

Throughout her story Michonne was always a level headed warrior with a good heart. Losing Rick in season 9 about broke her but she had her children to keep her grounded. She departed the series in season 10 to search for Rick.
