Election night is finally over, and the results are in: Donald Trump has secured his place as the 47th president of the United States. While his supporters celebrate and his opponents come to terms with the outcome, one couple in particular is left pondering the impact of this news.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made it a point to steer clear of endorsing any specific political candidate. Instead, they emphasized the importance of voting and civic engagement through a statement issued by the Archewell Foundation in September. In their statement, they highlighted that regardless of political affiliations, active participation in shaping a just and fair world is crucial.

While the couple has maintained a neutral stance, it’s widely assumed that their leanings align with the Democratic party, much like many in Hollywood. This suggests that they may not be particularly thrilled with the election results, especially considering Meghan’s previous public criticism of Donald Trump.

Back in 2016, before she had even met Prince Harry, Meghan openly expressed her disapproval of Trump on a US chat show, labeling him as ‘misogynistic’ and ‘divisive’. She even joked about staying in Canada if he were to win. Interestingly enough, just a few months after her remarks, she went on a date with Prince Harry, and shortly after that, Trump was elected into office.

Meghan’s past political comments resurface post-election

Despite being a member of the royal family, Meghan was expected to maintain political neutrality. However, during the most recent election, both she and Harry appeared in a video urging people to vote. Harry emphasized the importance of rejecting hate speech and misinformation.

The couple’s approach to politics has been quite interesting to observe. They’ve managed to navigate the delicate balance between their personal opinions and their public roles with grace. It’s evident that they value the democratic process while also being mindful of their positions in the public eye.

The outcome of this election undoubtedly leaves them with much to consider. As they continue to carve out their path beyond the constraints of royal duties, it will be intriguing to see how they navigate their relationship with the political landscape of their new home country.

In the midst of all the political chatter, it’s important to remember that at the heart of it all, we are witnessing two individuals who are simply trying to find their footing in a world that is constantly evolving. Their journey serves as a reminder that even amidst the grandeur of royalty, they are still human, with their own thoughts and beliefs.
