One Direction’s Emotional Revival After Liam Payne’s Death: How It Became a Wake-Up Call for the Entire Band!

Liam Payne’s tragic death has seemingly made his former One Direction band members want to fix and maintain their relationships with each other

The remaining former One Direction bandmates are re-examining their relationships after Liam Payne’s death.

Since the singer’s death in October, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson are reportedly focusing on re-establishing their friendships. Before Liam’s death, the boys did not seem close especially over the years. Although some of the members appeared closer than others since their indefinite hiatus in 2016, such as Liam and Louis and Liam and Niall. A source told US Weekly that Liam’s bandmates had a “wake-up call” and are looking to fix their bonds.

“[Liam’s death] was a wake-up call for all of them. Prior, they kept in touch sporadically but didn’t have close friendships at all,” the source told the outlet.

“They’re all still mourning but are checking in on each other and feel closer than they have in years,” the source continued. “It brought them back together.”

The late 31-year-old Teardrops performer fell to his death from his third floor hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October and his death currently being investigated as three people were charged. Harry, Zayn, Niall and Louis all attended the Liam’s private in Amersham, England in November. It was the first time the remaining One Direction members had been seen together since Zayn left the band in 2015 and their indefinite hiatus the following year.

Before then, the boys came together virtually to release a joint statement a day after Liam’s death. They also made their own touching individual tributes to Liam on their own Instagram accounts.

“We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say,” the joint statement said. “But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”

The source also added that all five members of One Direction were “in talks to do one last reunion show” before Liam’s death. The source said that now that reunion has been held off but it’s still being considered.

“The guys would love to do a tribute to Liam. They’re all so devastated right now they can’t even think about that as a legitimate project, but it has been discussed,” the insider elaborated. “Liam’s death has caused the guys immense heartbreak.”
