One of the things about being a fan and feeling so immersed in your favorite movies and TV shows is feeling like you can bring a part of the action close to home with merchandise. Of course, there are many ways to do this, from meeting your idols and getting an autograph to getting your hands on a prop or something featured on screen. And a very accessible form of merchandise for fans are collectable action figures, and soon a new Rick Grimes will be on the way.

Action figure popularity has always been high. There is a huge market for adult collectors who can buy plastic recreations of characters and scenes from their favorite media. It is exciting to see that characters from The Walking Dead Universe are still being created as toys after so many years of TWDU being around. And there has recently been some new announcements about upcoming TWDU releases from Hiya Toys.

McFarlane Toys recently announced that they would be running and bringing back a new line of TWD action figures after they stopped manufacturing them in 2017. This news was exciting for fans who had eagerly awaited and wanted a return to the line in some form or other. Wave one will see five-inch versions of Daryl and Merle Dixon, Michonne, and Rick Grimes, each comes with a bookmark featuring the character you buy is available now. And to the joy of collectors, Hiya Toys will release some exquisite four-inch figures from TWD spin-off shows, and the newest announcement is favourite Rick Grimes with a TWD: The Ones Who Live twist.

New The Walking Dead Rick Grimes Action Figure

One thing many fans are hoping to see with TWD merchandise is updated sculpts and costumes of various TWD characters. And thanks to global toy company Hiya Toys, we will now have the chance to buy an updated Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) from The Ones Who Live as an action figure. This figure will differ from the McFarlane ones we have become familiar with. It will be a 1:18 scale and stand just over four inches tall. It will also come with two interchangeable hands. If you like to unbox toys, you can pose him in various ways.

This figure features Rick with various accessories such as his iconic axe. Rick is also donning his CRM gear and armor. Each figure will also come with one of four multiple bases, each featuring bones on a rough terrain. This figure is currently priced at around $24.99 from select retailers and will, hopefully, be released in October 2025.

What makes this even more exciting is that according to Entertainment Earth, there might be a few chase variant editions. These variants are rare and randomly given to select customers who purchase one or multiple figures. This is still not guaranteed, even if multiple are bought. This is not certain, but would be exciting for fans if it were true.

And it doesn’t end there! Earlier this year, Hiya Toys also announced multiple new TWD spin-offs: Walkers, an updated Daryl Dixon styled upon his look from his self-titled spin-off with Negan from Dead City. These are also 1:18 scale, priced at $24.99, and are due to be released in January 2025. One thing is certain and that is all of them will look fantastic together!
