Netflix fans are complaining the second season of The Empress ended too quickly.

Netflix fans all had the same thing to say when their favorite show seemingly ended in the blink of an eye, leaving them fuming over the six episodes of The Empress.

Fans rushed to binge-watch season two of the Netflix show; however, only left them wanting more.

They quickly to social media to express their disdain.

One Reddit user wrote: “Really good. But disappointed how short it was. S2 took really long until it was released, and it was just a handful of episodes that can be watched on a single afternoon. the same will likely happen to s3.”

Netflix fans have complaint as favourite show ‘over too quick’ – and are fuming The Empress only has six episodes

Taking to X, another wrote: “Just binged watched season 2 of The Empress on Netflix. It definitely deserves a S-3!!’ ‘Only 6 episodes??? Just a teaser…!!! I’m heartbroken.” A third said: “Just finished watching all 6 EPS of the empress NETFLIX I NEED A THIRD SEASON RN.”

The Empress tells the remarkable yet tragic life of Duchess Elisabeth of Bavaria, played by German actress Devrim Lingnau.

Duchess Elisabeth, known as Sissy, experienced the loss of her first child in infancy, her second in a murder-suicide, and her sister in an accidental fire, before being assassinated by an Italian anarchist.

The first series of the royal period drama aired on Netflix in 2022, and after a patient two-year wait, fans were delighted to see its second season finally air.

But they were gutted to realize it was just six episodes of their beloved show, which has previously been compared to The Crown.

Viewers begged for updates on the potential renewal of the series for a third season after its “emotionally heavy but beautiful” ending.
