A Missouri high schooler managed to take the last spot available to be a part of this season of “The Voice,” on Monday night’s episode.

Trevon Dawson, a 17-year-old from the mid-Missouri town of Cole Camp, covered country singer Bailey Zimmerman’s song “Religiously” during his audition. What he didn’t know was that there was only one spot left–on Adam Levine’s team.

“You arguably had the highest stake performance because our teams are full. There is one spot left for this season, and it’s Adam’s,” coach Kelsea Ballerini told him after the performance.

All judges had positive feedback for the teen’s professional-sounding voice at a young age, with Levine adding, “You’re like, way together for a 17-year-old.”

Dawson has a few performances lined up in Missouri this year:

June 21: Reclaimed Stage
Sept. 25: Lake of the Ozarks Jeep Invasion

Now that teams are filled after blind auditions, “The Voice” will be moving into it’s next phase of the competition with the battle round. The show airs every Monday night.
