Matty Healy’s Mom Unaware of Taylor Swift’s New Album Release. Did She Lie?

Awkward.

Matty Healy’s mom, Denise Welch, claims she “wasn’t aware” of Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which features several tracks that seemingly diss her son.

During Thursday’s episode of the British talk show “Loose Women,” host Nadia Sawalha coyly asked Welch, “Taylor Swift has a new album out, have you heard it?”

The 1975 musician’s mom jokingly responded, “I wasn’t aware she had an album out at all.”

“I haven’t heard anything about it,” she added. “Anyway, I wish her all the best.”

Welsh’s remarks come a day after Healy claimed that – despite being the subject of many of its songs – he had not listened to Swift’s 11th studio album, which dropped April 19.

On Wednesday, paparazzi asked the “Somebody Else” singer, 35, if he had listened to his ex’s “diss” tracks.

“I haven’t really listened to that much of it but I’m sure it’s good,” Healy replied while flashing a smile.

“But I’m sure it’s great.”

After the “Bad Blood” singer’s album was released, several fans believed Swift, 34, took aim at the English singer-songwriter on a few of the tracks.

In the song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” the pop star sang about a person wearing a Jehovah’s Witness suit who is “rusting” her “sparkling summer.”

And in the title track, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift seemingly referenced Healy’s love for typewriters.

“You left your typewriter at my apartment / Straight from the Tortured Poets Department / I think some things I never say / Like, ‘Who uses typewriters anyway?’” she sang.

While Healy didn’t have much to say about Swift’s newest project, his aunt did not mince words when it came to defending her nephew.

“Nothing surprises him any more. He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on,” Debbie Dedes told the Daily Mail last weekend.

“As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press.”

Healy and the “Cruel Summer” songstress had a brief romance in 2014 before rekindling things in May 2023.

Swift and the “Robbers” musician called it quits in June 2023, reportedly due to scheduling and incompatibility issues.

The billionaire singer has since moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce, while Healy is now dating model Gabbriette Bechtel.
