Jennifer Coolidge Speaks Out on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Zoo Date in Australia: Defending or Condemning?

The self-proclaimed Swiftie and PETA’s ‘Vegan Queen’ is finally weighing in on the date night drama.

Jennifer Coolidge may not be a fan of Taylor Swift’s and Travis Kelce’s overseas date night at a zoo in Australia, but she’s also not willing to side with those who have scolded the A-list couple for their recent public outing.

For those who missed it, ahead of Swift’s Eras Tour dates in Sydney last week, the “Cruel Summer” songstress was spotted checking out one of the area’s zoos not once but twice as she made a second trip there with her NFL star beau after he landed Down Under.

After the pictures went viral, the PETA Foundation Director of Captive Animal Welfare was apparently worried about the “Taylor Swift effect,” which could see large numbers of Swifties flocking to the location solely because Swift was seen there, sharing a statement using Swift’s own lyrics against her: “While we understand all too well the appeal of seeing Australia’s wildlife, PETA hopes that next time Taylor and Travis want to see wild animals, they’ll spend their time and money at a true sanctuary.”

Now, the White Lotus alum—who was previously named PETA’s “Vegan Queen” and is a self-proclaimed Swiftie—has weighed in on the drama.

“I’m not a big zoo person,” Coolidge, 62, told TMZ. “I love Taylor, I think they seem like animal lovers. So, you know, I think there’s [inaudible] I can’t condone those guys, I love them.”

“I’m sure they didn’t think about it too much,” she added of the highly-publicized date. “I’m sure they were just trying to do something romantic. I’m gonna let them off the hook.”

Coolidge concluded by saying she normally agrees with PETA on everything because “they’re the best animal rights group around, so I do love them,” but she’s shaking this latest critique off—something she seemingly never thought she’d do, not even in her wildest dreams.
