The video for ‘Seven’ reveals the newly exposed connection.
Some eagle-eyed Swifties have uncovered another exciting connection between the pop star and the Kelce family that dates back to childhood.
Fans who have been closely monitoring the Taylor Swift–Travis Kelce romance since the couple went public last fall are likely already aware of how Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs coach, Andy Reid, knew Swift when she was a child through his friendship with her father, Scott Swift. The connection became a source of jokes for Reid during the last NFL season as he teased the Chiefs tight end about knowing Swift years before Travis did.
Swifties are now recognizing a similarity in where the Swifts and Kelces vacationed years ago, thanks to an image included in a video clip for “Seven,” one of the songs on Swift’s 2020 album Folklore.
In the video, a young Swift is seen sitting in a tree, her long blonde hair running down her back as she sits between the branches while wearing shorts and a gray sweatshirt with “Sea Isle” emblazoned across the front in large blocky letters. The sweatshirt was a nod to the Jersey Shore city that Swift visited with her parents while on vacation in New Jersey as a child. Sea Isle News reported on the connection when Swift first released the video in the summer of 2020.
A few years later, a Swiftie on X noticed the old image of Swift popping up while playing “Seven” on Spotify. The X user drew connections between Swift’s time vacationing in Sea Isle City as a child and the Kelces, who also have a history with the city.
Travis’ older brother, Jason Kelce, bought a summer home in Sea Isle City back in 2022 with his wife, Kylie Kelce, according to OCNJ Daily. The former Philadelphia Eagles center, who announced his decision to retire from the NFL last week, has also held an annual fundraiser in the city benefitting the Eagles Autism Foundation for the last few years.
“This is why I’m just so damn invested in their story,” one fan wrote on X, as another agreed the connection was “crazy.”
“The invisible strings are just gone,” another tweeted. “Now it’s just a multi-link chain! You just can’t make this stuff up!”
