Jared Padalecki Teases His Potential Role in The Boys Season 5

Supernatural actor Jared Padalecki seems to be most likely joining The Boys for the superhero show’s final season. He’s opened up more about the potential acting gig while sharing what he’d want for his role.

Padalecki commented on the possibility in a new interview with TVLine. He shared how The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural, contacted him after Padalecki’s show Walker was canceled. A role in The Boys was offered to Padalecki, who has already agreed to be a part of it, though he wants a warning if he’s supposed to play a character who will be getting naked.

“He’s like, ‘Hey, dude, so sorry about Walker. I know how much you loved it and great show. Would you be interested in coming to play up in Toronto [where The Boys shoots]?’” Padalecki explained. “I was like, ‘Absolutely. Just let me know if I have to get naked or not because I gotta start working out now.’

Because Padalecki and Kripke both really want it to happen, it’s probable that the casting will happen, but nothing is on the books just yet. The scripts are still unwritten and filming won’t even start until 2025, so there’s time to figure out a way to best get Padalecki into the show. For his part, Padalecki joked that he’d like to play a villainous supe with the “power of wearing clothes” before then saying he’s leaving it completely up to Kripke.

“He and I have talked about what it could look like. It’s not written yet. He said it wouldn’t really be until 2025. We wouldn’t shoot until probably January-ish,” Padalecki said. “[I’m game to] go play in the playground [of] the guy who created Sam Winchester. I’ve had good times in his playground, so I’m happy to do it again.

Jared Padalecki Isn’t Sharing His Ideas With Eric Kripke

He added, “You know what’s funny is that, yeah, I have some ideas, but to Kripke’s credit, all my ideas for his time on Supernatural paled in comparison to what he came up with. So I wouldn’t even want to put anything in his head. I just want him and his f–ked up mind to think of something cool for me to come and do, and it’s going to be better than anything I could have dreamed up. The way his brain works is wildly interesting and outside of the box… So I’ll just go with what he creates.”

The Boys is streaming on Prime Video.
