The Boys season 4’s best fight scene has finally happened, and it is wild that it took the show this long to show it. Throughout the first four seasons of The Boys, a lot of fantastic fight scenes have been shown, showing off the various powers of the supes, both traditional and wacky. However, the stakes have been seriously raised in The Boys season 4, making each fight even more dangerous. Because of this, The Boys season 4, episode 7 includes one fight scene that fans have been waiting to see for years now.
Unlike most superhero projects, the action scenes aren’t the main draw of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, with the series instead being known for its raunchy spins on superhero tropes and its political commentary. However, this hasn’t stopped The Boys from having some pretty epic fight scenes. Despite this, many fans have found these fight scenes to be a bit lacking, but season 4 has just upped the ante a bit more by having the show’s biggest battle yet.
The Boys & The Seven Actually Fight As Teams In The Boys Season 4
For The First Time In Years
In The Boys season 4, episode 7, Hughie, Billy Butcher, and Starlight return to their office, only to make the shocking discovery that The Deep is already there. After threatening the team, The Deep reveals that Black Noir’s supe replacement is there as well, leading to The Boys and the two members of The Seven entering into an all-out brawl. By the end of the fight, Mother’s Milk and A-Train also join in, meaning that the majority of The Seven and The Boys are fighting one another for the first time in the show’s history.
Since The Boys focuses on a team of protagonists and a team of superpowered antagonists, it is a massive surprise that it has taken this long to have the two teams fight each other. Throughout the show leading up to this point, The Boys has mostly featured two or three members of The Boys taking on one of The Seven’s supe members at a time. These have been fun, but finally raising the stakes and allowing The Boys to take on multiple supes at a time is a great move for the development of the series.
The Boys Fought Superhero Teams More Often In The Comic Books
And It Has Been Greatly Missed In The Show
Having The Boys finally take on a superhero team in the Amazon Prime Video series is a great move, as this is something that happened far more often in the comic books. The Boys comics don’t wait that long to have the team of supe killers take on a team of supes, with The Boys fighting the entirety of the Teenage Kix team early in the saga. Changing The Boys comics to have fewer supe team fights in the show was a misstep, one that season 4 is finally redeeming.
There have been times before that The Boys have been involved with fights that feature several supes, such as the fight with Hughie, Butcher, Soldier Boy, and Homelander in season 3, the climactic battle in the same season, and the invasion of Tek Knight’s mansion only a few episodes ago. However, the characters often split up or stick to one opponent in these battles, whereas The Boys season 4, episode 7 takes this concept and makes it even bigger for the first time in the show’s history.
The Boys Season 5 Needs A Proper Boys Vs. Seven Team Battle
It Has To Include The Missing Characters
Although The Boys season 4 finally saw a few members of The Boys and The Seven fight each other, season 5 needs a proper fight featuring every member of The Boys and every member of The Seven. Frenchie was notably missing from the season 4, episode 7 fight, as he was still in prison after turning himself in. However, the missing members of The Seven were an even bigger deal.
For a The Boys fight with both teams to feel truly epic, Homelander has to be involved. On top of that, supes like Firecracker, Sister Sage, and Ryan weren’t involved in the aforementioned season 4 fight at all, with The Boys only taking on two of The Seven’s weaker members. While having the full force of The Seven may make the fight seen unwinnable for The Boys, the humans needs to quit picking off the supes one by one and expand on the epic battle seen in The Boys season 4, episode 7.
