House of the Dragon star Eve Best says 'it is annoying' to lose the Iron Throne to a man | Exclusive

The HBO series, House of the Dragon, finally airs its first episode today (August 22, 2022). The series is a prequel to the events in Game of Thrones and focuses on the Targaryen family dynasty. British actor Eve Best will be seen playing the role of Princess Rhaenys Velaryon in House of the Dragon. During an interview, IndiaToday.in asked Eve her take on losing the Iron Throne to a man and what she would do differently if given a chance.

‘IT’S ANNOYING TO LOSE THRONE TO A MAN’

“Well, it’s annoying. It’s not a surprise,” Eve answered IndiaToday.in. She added, “I think what I would have done differently is educate all the women, get rid of whatever it’s called primogeniture. I mean, whatever thing [norm] that only man can inherit. So that women also get a fair chance. So, basically, I mean, education for everybody. But particularly, in our world and the rest of the world, that would be really great.”

Eve stars alongside Steve Toussaint, who will be seen as Lord Corlys Velaryon. Their onscreen equation is definitely something that will keep the show interesting. Meanwhile, House of the Dragon will air every Monday and is a 10-episode series, based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood.
