Forget The Commonwealth! These Walking Dead Spinoff Villains Are on a Whole New Level!

Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol episode 3.The Walking Dead spinoffs have introduced a variety of menacing villains, and Daryl Dixon‘s biggest threat would cause huge problems for the Commonwealth. Throughout the franchise, the central survivors have cycled through a variety of safe zones. While their initial settlements consisted of more limited spaces like a farm and a prison, they eventually found more established communities such as Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom. However, the Commonwealth became most characters’ permanent home in season 11, and it is easily their most secure base yet, but it wouldn’t stand much of a chance against Daryl Dixon‘s main villains.
Although the central survivors are used to overcoming the odds and defeating larger groups, they still have limitations. Great combat skills are one thing, but Negan’s introduction proved that it isn’t enough to conquer an overwhelming numbers advantage. Instead, the main characters had to come up with a crafty strategy to take down the Saviors, and that might not be possible against Daryl Dixon‘s antagonists. Alongside their large army and ruthless methods, the evil faction’s use of zombie variants explains why Daryl Dixon‘s villains would pose such a big threat to the Commonwealth if they ever faced off.
Genet’s Army & Zombie Variants Mean She Could Easily Beat The Walking Dead’s Commonwealth
Pouvoir’s Impressive Numbers Alongside Their Zombie Army Make Them Nearly Unbeatable

While the Commonwealth is home to some of the most capable survivors in the entire Walking Dead franchise, they’d still be no match for Genet and Pouvoir. It’s possible that if they had the same sort of time to prepare for Pouvoir as they did the Saviors, the main characters could find a way to take down the antagonists. However, in a battle similar to Woodbury vs. the prison, there’s only one winner. Pouvoir’s huge army would already give them a significant advantage, but adding their zombie variants into the mix would make things even more devastating.
Genet’s army could send in a horde of variants to attack the survivors while shooting from the outside, making survival almost impossible for the central characters.
Daryl Dixon season 2 has showcased Genet’s main villain potential, as her control over France and sadistic experiments are akin to some of the franchise’s best antagonists. Using her massive following to destroy the Commonwealth’s defenses, Genet’s army could send in a horde of variants to attack the survivors while shooting from the outside, making survival almost impossible for the central characters. Without plenty of time to prepare, the Commonwealth would almost certainly fall to Pouvoir. Therefore, the protagonists must try to avoid conflict with them by all means necessary, as the villains have a terrifyingly strong set-up.
Given that Pouvoir Du Vivant is gearing up to attack the Nest – a better-defended community than the Commonwealth – it’s clear this well-drilled group knows what they’re doing, highlighting how troublesome a war would be for The Walking Dead‘s key characters.
Future The Walking Dead Shows Could Bring Genet & Pouvoir To The US
Genet’s Zombie Variants Already Give Her A Reason To Go To America

There is no guarantee Genet and Pouvoir will survive Daryl Dixon season 2 and beyond, but if they do, a move to the US is possible in future projects. Since the main show’s finale, plenty of clues hinting at a Walking Dead crossover have been dropped, indicating it’s bound to happen at some point. As a result, it will need a strong overarching antagonist, which Genet and Pouvoir would be perfect for. Not only do the villains have a history with Daryl that may spark a war with the Commonwealth, but they also have a reason behind their US trip.
As part of Pouvoir’s experiments, Daryl Dixon revealed they needed American zombies to create their variant formula, hence why Genet has ships traveling across the ocean. Even if it’s a relatively new part of Pouvoir’s plan, they have boats regularly docking in America to look for zombies, giving the faction a reason to travel there. Although it seems unlikely they’ll move to the US permanently, a future series could bring the faction to America if things go wrong in France, making Daryl’s alliance with the Commonwealth a point of contention that could create a war between the two groups.
Genet Would Struggle In A Conflict Against The Walking Dead’s CRM
The CRM Are Even More Powerful & Organized Than Genet’s Faction

Despite all of Pouvoir’s firepower and resources, the group would have a much tougher time battling the CRM. Although the Civic Republic Military is much weaker after The Ones Who Live‘s ending, they are still an incredibly powerful military faction that seems enormous in comparison to most groups in the franchise, including Pouvoir. While figuring out exactly how many people are in both the CRM and Pouvoir is near impossible, the Civic Republic has over 200,000 residents in Philadelphia alone. Therefore, their army is almost certainly bigger than Pouvoir’s and their advantages don’t end there.
The CRM remains operational after Rick and Michonne took down Major General Beale, and with the Civic Republic overseeing them, they no longer appear to be villains.
The CRM also has some of the most advanced technology seen in The Walking Dead, with helicopters, trackers, and chlorine gas all at their disposal. Additionally, they also carry out their own zombie experiments, and while these aren’t conducted to create variants, it shows they have expert knowledge on the undead that could counter Pouvoir’s biggest weapon. Given Rick now has a strong alliance with the CRM, having them help protect the Commonwealth would be the community’s best chance of fighting off Daryl Dixon‘s Pouvoir, making the CRM the strongest faction in the entire franchise.
