Exciting Release Schedule for The Boys Season 4: 3a.m in the morning!

Plus, creator Eric Kripke reveals that the series will end after season 5.

Morning, supes! Ready for another day of fighting crime? The Boys is back for season 4, which creator Eric Kripke reveals will serve as the road to the big series finale. “#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season!” Kripke stated on X (formerly Twitter). “Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!”

According to Entertainment Weekly, two superheroes from the recent spin-off, Gen V, are set to join Homelander’s (Antony Starr) tyrannical crew this go-around. The mind-controlling Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) and the super-strong Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) will serve as the evil superman’s new pupils in season 4, joining his quest for even more power.

As fans of the series may recall, two substantial twists capped off the finales for both The Boys season 3 and Gen V season 1. First, on The Boys, it was revealed that Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) was working with Homelander to get into the Oval Office. Then, on Gen V, she successfully acquired a deadly virus that can kill people with superpowers. Neuman will likely serve as a major antagonist in season 4 at the pace her character is moving, especially as the new arc follows the upcoming election. On the heels of season 3’s Trumpian moment for Homelander, the pairing will do nicely as America ramps up its own presidential election cycle this summer.

“It very nicely holds up a mirror to where we are right now,” Kripke told Reuters about The Boys season 4. The point I think the show is trying to make is that there’s this intense polarization…kind of us versus them, demonization of the other side…that there can only be one winner and one loser.”

On the other side of the fight is Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie Cambell (Jack Quaid), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), and the rest of the Boys crew, who believe they’re the only people capable of stopping Homelander by whatever means necessary. “Insanely desperate’s where we are,” Butcher declared in a surprise Gen V cameo last fall. Now that he knows that a certain virus can kill supes, his quest for a superhero genocide is reignited.
