Edward Bluemel On His Love For Bridgerton

My Lady Jane actor Edward Bluemel spoke about his love for Bridgerton in an exclusive conversation with Rudrani Chattoraj and said, “I love Bridgerton. I think its an amazing show. My Lady Jane has a lot of aspects which are fantastical, adventurous, and action and that’s what separates it from a lot of other things we see at the moment right now. It also has that romantic drama that me and everyone else on the planet is obsessed with.

Edward Bluemel On Romantic Scenes

In an interview with The Wrap, he spoke about his relationship with Emily Bladder and shooting intimate scenes with her. He said, “I think that sort of clumsiness, and that is represented in some of the intimate scenes as well, I think is so important to their journey,” he said. “And like, for me and Emily, it’s hard to quantify what is chemistry, so I think sort of over-intellectualizing it can sometimes be a mistake. And instead, you just gotta just jump in and hope for the best, and I feel like it worked.”

However, My Lady Jane‘s showrunners Meredith Glynn and Gemma Burgess said that the writing for their relationship was ‘really sharp, fast banter.’ Glynn added, “We wanted banter to be their love language. We wanted it to be the way that they wanted it to be foreplay for them. And we wanted them to hopefully join the pantheon of great couples like Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, like Beatrice and Benedict. And with a little soupçon of screwball comedy.”
