No, Negan Smith doesn’t die in The Walking Dead and is shown to be alive at the end of the final episode of season 11, the series finale. However, the former leader of the Survivors does come close to dying a few times throughout the series but manages to escape death every time. By the end, Negan is shown to have a wife with a child on the way after he was exiled following his actions in the Whispers War.
While he does return to Alexandria, he then leaves again with Maggie in the series finale of The Walking Dead in an attempt to find her son after he was kidnapped and taken to New York City. That introduced the spin-off, titled The Walking Dead: Dead City, which revolves around Maggie and Negan’s search alongside them exploring their complicated relationship.

Born on April 22nd, 1966, Jeffery Dean Morgan portrays Negan Smith in The Walking Dead and its subsequent television universe. The American is a prolific actor in both film and television, having also made appearances in Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy, The Boys, and several other shows. Morgan made his debut in 1991 and while he has starred in several feature films throughout his career, he is best known for his roles on the small screen.
Morgan’s performance as Negan has seen him etched into history as one of television’s best villains and anti-heroes following his subsequent change for the better over the course of the series.
