Crossover Chaos: Fear the Walking Dead and TWD Fans Can’t Miss These Spoilers!

As early as Season 1 of “Fear The Walking Dead,” speculations of a crossover with “The Walking Dead” have been swirling around and the same still excites FTWD and TWD fans alike. And why not as both shows operate on the same universe, somehow indicating it’s not a remote possibility that survivors of the zombie apocalypse will one day walk on the same road.
Although playing out in locations many miles apart – Fear in California and TWD in Atlanta – there are hints of vague connections that can be found on the two shows, the most obvious of course is the breakout of the zombie virus that redefined the human civilization.
And that’s where the crossover could come in – the human connection. According to Comic Book, the link between FTWD and TWD could be provided by Madison. The character is a guidance counsellor based in Los Angeles but was originally from Alabama, which explains her southern accent.
Madison’s accent alone could be the clue on her connection with the Atlanta survivors headed by Rick Grimes. Comic Book said Madison could turn out as the long lost sibling of Rick though the report noted that in the comics version of The Walking Dead Rick’s sibling is a he named Jeff. Still the FTWD showrunner can always edit this element just to make the crossover happen in the most sensible way.
Or AMC can make Madison a close relative of any TWD characters, dead and living. She can be a sister to Lori or Daryl or Andrea or anybody that matters in the TWD universe. The point is Madison provides an opening for Fear to eventually intersect with The Walking Dead.
Another suggestion from Comic Book is the reemergence of TWD character that was last seen in Season 1. Morales, the report recalled, had decided to bolt away from Rick’s group when the latter took on the journey to CDC Atlanta.
The same report imagined that Morales thought it wise to head west and eventually stumbled on the pack where Madison belongs. This is a possibility that AMC can surely consider – allowing first Morales to crossover on Fear and eventually emerge as among the key FTWD characters en route to a future reunion with Rick’s camp.
But the most plausible crossover scenario could be the Fear touching on the origin of the Whisperers. “It’s a savage bunch which wears the skin of the dead in an effort to go unnoticed while venturing through the apocalyptic world, constantly keeping their voices to a whisper,” Comic Book said on its reports.
In the comics, TWD creator Robert Kirkman has set the Whisperers on a collision course with Rick Grimes’ group provided the latter will survive Negan. As suggested, the Fear survivors will become the Whisperers and in turn will serve as the next threat to Grimes and company. This is in line with Morales connecting with the group of Madison and convincing them to try Atlanta.
And that should make for an exciting storyline of an eventual crossover that surely will benefit both The Walking Dead and Fear. The latter, according to Forbes, has been proving lately that it is the better show for infusing more humanizing elements and unpredictability that were sorely lacking in TWD.
