Charlie Puth responded to Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department shoutout to promote new music.

Charlie Puth has responded to Taylor Swift‘s shoutout from The Tortured Poets Department. However, he also took the chance to promote his new music at the same time.
In a TikTok, Puth previews a new song he wrote as text sprawled across the screen. “Thank you,” the caption simply read.
“These last couple weeks have been really crazy for obvious reasons, but I wanted to share something with you,” Puth began as the new music started playing. “This is a song I wrote about my friend called ‘Hero’. Sometimes I get a little nervous being overly honest in my music which is why this was sitting on my hard drive for a while.
“But I think someone out there was giving me a sign that I needed to release it,” he continued.
As the video continued, Puth announced that “Hero,” his new lead single, will be released on May 24. This will be the first single off of his new album.
“Thank you for your support…you know who you are,” Puth’s text concludes.
Taylor Swift’s Charlie Puth shoutout

On the title track of Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, she gave a shoutout to Puth in the second verse.
“You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” Swift sings.
A couple of years ago, Puth covered Swift’s “Teardrops on My Guitar” at a show. He interrupted his performance to say, “Taylor Swift is the queen of these chords.”
Charlie Puth made his debut with his single, “Marvin Gaye,” which featured Meghan Trainor. He released his first studio album, Nine Track Mind, in 2016. He would subsequently release two more albums, Voicenotes (2018) and Charlie (2022).
The Tortured Poets Department
On April 19, 2024, Swift released her latest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. This is her eleventh studio album of original music and her first since Midnights.
After winning Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2024 Grammys, Swift announced The Tortured Poets Department. She later won Album of the Year for Midnights at the same ceremony.
In addition to her eleven studio albums, Swift has released four re-recorded (Taylor’s Version) albums. She began this trend with Fearless and Red in 2021. 2023 was another double billing as she released the re-recorded Speak Now and 1989.
Taylor Swift is also about the resume her “Eras” tour. She will pick up the tour with four shows in Nanterre, France, after a two-month break. These are the first shows Swift has played since March and it remains to be seen how she will include The Tortured Poets Department in her setlist.
Throughout the summer, Swift will take the “Eras” tour across Europe. She will return to the United States to play shows in Miami, Florida, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Swift will then play nine dates in Canada (six in Toronto and three in Vancouver).
The tour has also been commemorated in a concert film. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is the highest-grossing concert film of all time, grossing over $260 million at the box office. A (Taylor’s Version) edition is streaming on Disney+.
