Prince Harry and King Charles didn’t have the smoothest father-son relationship as the two are still embroiled in an ongoing rift.

However, the Duke of Sussex is still haunted by one cruel claim made by his father, which he truly despised. Although, with a new detail provided by Princess Diana’s close friend rubbishes the accusation.

Diana reportedly had an affair with her riding instructor, James Hewitt, and it led many of believe that Harry was Hewitt’s biological son due to their ginger hair and freckles.

However, Richard Dalton, Diana’s hairdresser, told Fox News Digital that it is “not possible” at all.

Talking about the ongoing rumours at the time, Dalton admitted it was “tough” for the mom of two.

“Harry was already born a while before her relationship with Hewitt,” Dalton explained. “And I don’t think it’s possible.”

He went on to stress that the Spencer family genetically have red hair, hence why Harry was born a ginger.

“Charles, Diana’s brother, had bright red hair when he was [in] college. And I used to cut his hair then. [Diana’s sister] Sarah, has bright red hair. [Diana’s other sister] Jane was more or less the same colouring as Diana,” he revealed.

He also shared in his book that Diana “used to get very upset” with the tabloids insisting that Hewitt was Harry’s father.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry described how his father made jokes about the painful gossip and dubbed it as “sadistic.”

“Pa liked telling stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire. He’d always end with a burst of philosophising … Who knows if I’m really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I’m even your real father?” he wrote.

Adding, “He’d laugh and laugh, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumour circulating just then that my actual father was one of mummy’s former lovers: Major James Hewitt. One cause of this rumour was Major Hewitt’s flaming ginger hair, but another cause was sadism.”

The King and his younger son are currently is murky territory concerning their relationship. The two met earlier this year in February following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.

Moreover, the Duke of Sussex reportedly received a phone call from his father on his milestone 40th birthday. It remains to be seen if the two will me meeting when Harry returns to UK on Tuesday.
