And Just Like That starring Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the many returning shows for HBO in 2025 including The White Lotus and The Last of Us. The new season will see Parker back as Carrie Bradshaw, navigating life and love in New York City once again. In a new interview, executive producer Michael Patrick King announced the new faces that would be joining the show as Carrie moves ahead into a new phase with her relationship with Aidan (John Corbett). Find out what he had to say!

And Just Like That Season 3 producer reveals new cast members

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, King confirmed that Agatha All Along’s Patti LuPone will be joining Carrie and the gang for a story in the new season. Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) and Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman) won’t be back for Season 3, but Rosie O’Donnell, Cheri Oteri, Mehcad Brooks, Jonathan Cake, Kristen Schaal, and Logan Marshall-Green are all on board as new characters. Rosemarie DeWitt is also going to reprise her role as Aidan’s ex-wife, Kathy.

Carrie and Aidan taking a five-year break will be “a big plot point” in the new season as his character leaves to spend more time with his sons. There will be a lot for the character to figure out with her past and future with her former flame. But King promised, “I have no interest in torturing an audience too much. It’s an interesting thing when you have Carrie Bradshaw in love figuring out how to make this work when, at a certain age, everyone has a past. There are a couple of booby traps in the Carrie-Aidan history that we’re very aware of, as well.”

Return of Carrie’s voiceover

One element that fans have missed in this spinoff series is the inner monologues of Carrie each episode and luckily, they are making a comeback. The executive producer revealed that the voiceover will return as Carrie sits down to write a new book. He said, “For the first two seasons of And Just Like That, I took the voiceover away because I didn’t think she knew what she was feeling. She’s starting to feel things again and have an overview of where she is in the world. Writing a book is very private, and so, in an interesting way, it’s almost a direct, intimate conversation with the viewer. Maybe there are things she’s saying to the viewer that she wouldn’t say to even her best friends.”

Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda Hobbes, Sarita Choudhury’s Seema Patel, Nicole Ari Parker’s Lisa Todd Wexley, and Mario Cantone’s Anthony will also have major arcs this season. King shared that there are plenty of new loves and new obstacles for old loves coming up in the HBO series.
