Agatha All Along Season 2: The Game-Changing Update That Could Shake Marvel’s Future!

Audiences excited about a possible season 2 of Agatha All Along should be thrilled about a recent update, but it could alter another upcoming MCU series. Agatha All Along was a surprise hit for Marvel and Disney. While Kathryn Hahn was a scene-stealer as the wicked Agatha Harkness in Wandavision, viewers were unsure if a whole show starring her character could work. However, it turned out to be a bewitching success. It was a hit with critics and audiences, and its viewership increased each week.
Showrunner and director Jac Schaeffer created an excellent series that captured the Halloween spirit and balanced humor, heart, and drama. The series was initially billed as a miniseries, but it received a major update that improves its odds of getting a second season. On Disney+, Agatha All Along is labeled as season 1, meaning a season 2 announcement could be coming soon. However, season 2 would change the MCU’s plans for its Vision Quest series, which reportedly concludes a television trilogy.
Agatha All Along’s New Status Means Vision Quest May Not End The Trilogy
The unofficially titled Vision Quest series continues the story of White Vision, who fled Westview after the events of Wandavision. The series will see Paul Bettany return to the role as this new Vision searches for his purpose in life. The Vision spinoff will also include the return of James Spader’s Ultron, who hasn’t played the character since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. According to The Hollywod Reporter, Vision Quest is “meant to be the third part of a trilogy” that started with Wandavision and continued with Agatha All Along.
Based on how Agatha All Along season 1 ended, it’s likely a better idea for Marvel to keep Agatha’s events separate from the Vision series.
Agatha All Along season 2 would significantly alter those plans, assuming season 2 debuts after Vision Quest. The Vision spinoff wouldn’t end this trilogy, and the “Wandavision corner” of the MCU would keep going. Based on how Agatha All Along season 1 ended, it’s likely a better idea for Marvel to keep Agatha’s events separate from the Vision series.
Vision Quest Shouldn’t Continue The Events of Agatha All Along
Agatha All Along continued Wandavision‘s events, exploring what happened to Wanda and Vision’s kids after the Westview anomaly ended. Billy’s soul transferred into William Kaplan, a teenager who recently died next to the anomaly. However, Billy still can’t find Tommy, and the season ends with Billy and a ghostly Agatha leaving on a quest to find Tommy. Since season 2 hasn’t been confirmed, their search would likely happen in Vision Quest, reuniting Vision with his children.
However, Marvel should continue the search for Tommy in Agatha All Along season 2. Vision Quest should focus on Bettany’s android and his search for a new purpose and identity. Inviting Agatha and Billy into this series would detract from Vision’s story, creating too many side stories that turn Vision Quest into a mess. It’s also a good idea for Marvel to capitalize on Agatha All Along‘s success by continuing the story in an isolated environment. Vision Quest can succeed on its own, without being attached to Agatha’s spinoff.
