A Walking Dead Star Is Leading a Brutal New Slasher Horror—Here’s What You Need to Know Before Its March Release!

Shudder has announced upcoming releases for March 2025, and this list includes a brand new horror slasher featuring Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Angel Theory, Bloody Axe Murder.
AMC’s recent press release highlights the long list of new releases for March 2023, and Shudder will offer several originals in the upcoming month. In addition to Bloody Axe Wound, the list includes a new season of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs (March 7), the folk horror Starve Acre (March 7) starring Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark, and the mystery thriller The Rule of Jenny Pen (March 28) starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush.
Directed by Matthew John Lawrence, known for his horror-comedy Uncle Peckerhead, Bloody Axe Wound will premiere on Shudder on March 7. Filmed in the Hudson Valley area of upstate New York, where Morgan and his family reside, the movie from RLJE Films also stars Sari Arambulo, Molly Brown,Mickey Breitsenstein, Eddie Leavy, Billy Burke and more.
In addition to the exciting cast the film is set to a unique soundtrack which includes tracks from Pom Pom Squad, Five Hundred Bucks, He is Legend, and Your Future Ghost.

What is Bloody Axe Wound about?
Abbie Bladecut is a teenager torn between the macabre traditions of her family’s bloody trade and the tender stirrings of her first crush. In the small town of Clover Falls, Abbie’s father, Roger Bladecut, has built an infamous legacy by capturing real-life killings on tape and selling them to eager customers. Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Morgan is well known for his role as Negan Smith in The Walking Dead universe. He will reprise this role in the spring of 2025 with the release of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2. Fans are excited to see Negan back in action as he reverts to his old ways. Other roles he is known for include Denny Duquette in Grey’s Anatomy and John Winchester in Supernatural.
His most recent roles include The Boys, Leopard Skin, Fall, The Integrity of Joseph Chambers, and The Unholy.
Angel Theory

Theory began her portrayal of Kelly in TWDU during the series ninth season. She was introduced as a member of Magna’s (Nadia Hilker) group, which also included Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) and Luke (Dan Fogler). She also stars in the horror Kinderfanger that is available on VOD via Prime Video.
