Thanks to the changes Taylor Swift made to her Eras Tour setlist, one particular song is never making it into The Eras Tour movie now. After a two-month hiatus, Taylor Swift resumed The Eras Tour in Paris on May 9, 2024. During this hiatus, Swift released an extended cut of her concert movie titled Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+ and dropped her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. When she returned to the stage, Swift incorporated this new era into her show by adding seven The Tortured Poets Department songs to the Eras Tour setlist.
Two hours after dropping the 16-track The Tortured Poets Department album on April 19, 2024, at midnight EST, Swift revealed that there was a surprise second installment containing 15 songs and proceeded to release the combined 31-song double album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
Swift’s opening Paris show was being filmed (via X), suggesting that another extended cut or a completely new version of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie that features the new TTPD set may be in the works. However, to free up space in the 3+ hour concert for the new The Tortured Poets Department songs, Swift cut almost as many songs from the existing setlist. Five of the six songs Swift removed from the setlist were featured in The Eras Tour movie on Disney+, but the only one that wasn’t never will be now.

Taylor Swift Removed “’Tis The Damn Season” From The Eras Tour Setlist
“‘Tis The Damn Season” Is The Only Song Now Cut From The Setlist That Isn’t Featured In The Eras Tour Movie
image via Disney+One of the six songs that Swift removed from the Eras Tour setlist is “’tis the damn season” from the Evermore era. On this somber anti-festive tune, Swift’s narrator reconnects with an old flame from high school during a hometown visit over the holidays. Swift used to open the Evermore era with “’tis the damn season” on the Eras Tour, but now that she’s rearranged the order of the setlist and combined the 2020 “sister album” sets, she opens the joint “Folkmore” era with “cardigan” from Folklore instead.
It was easy to predict Swift cutting ”’tis the damn season” from the setlist, though, since it was also one of the casualties of The Eras Tour movie’s theatrical release. When Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour premiered in theaters on October 13, 2023, a handful of songs on the permanent setlist from different eras were excluded from the concert movie, likely to keep the runtime under three hours.
“‘Tis the damn season” was the only song from the permanent setlist missing from all three versions of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie.
Four of these songs Swift cut from The Eras Tour movie in theaters—”The Archer,” “Long Live,” “cardigan,” and “Wildest Dreams”—were eventually included in the Taylor’s Version extended cut that she released on Disney+ on March 14, 2024, during her break from touring. However, “’tis the damn season” was the only song from the permanent setlist missing from all three versions of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie.
Of the six songs now missing from the updated setlist, “The Archer” and “Long Live” were also initially excluded from The Eras Tour movie in theaters, but were later added to the extended cut on Disney+.

Why “’Tis The Damn Season” Was Never Included In The Eras Tour Movie
Swift Did Not Perform “‘Tis The Damn Season” When She Filmed The Eras Tour Movie
The reason “’tis the damn season” is still missing from The Eras Tour movie on Disney+ is that Swift temporarily replaced it on the setlist when The Eras Tour movie was filmed. For the few U.S. shows on the Eras Tour where HAIM was the opening act, Swift swapped “’tis the damn season” with her and HAIM’s Evermore duet, “no body, no crime,” on the setlist. Footage for The Eras Tour movie was shot during the first three of Swift’s six stops at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles from August 3-5, 2023, for which HAIM happened to be opening.
Because she did “no body, no crime” with HAIM for all three filmed shows instead, there was no footage of Swift performing “’tis the damn season” to include in The Eras Tour movie to begin with. Unlike the other setlist songs omitted from the theatrical version, Swift couldn’t add “’tis the damn season” to the streaming version even if she wanted to.
The footage of “no body, no crime” from SoFi Stadium could eventually see the light of day in a future version of The Eras Tour movie, but “’tis the damn season” will never have that same luxury now that it’s been taken off the setlist for good.
Even though it was filmed, “no body, no crime” was never added to The Eras Tour movie on Disney+ either. This may be because HAIM were the only special guests or because the song wasn’t part of the permanent setlist and, thus, didn’t accurately represent the true Eras Tour concert experience. Regardless, the footage of “no body, no crime” from SoFi Stadium could eventually see the light of day in a future version of The Eras Tour movie, but “’tis the damn season” will never have that same luxury now that it’s been taken off the setlist for good.
The Only Way “’Tis The Damn Season” Could Make It Into The Eras Tour Movie Now
Swift Likely Won’t Restore Any Cut Songs On The Eras Tour Setlist Now
Given these particular circumstances, it’s highly unlikely that “’tis the damn season” will ever appear in any new extended cut of The Eras Tour movie. No footage from the filmed L.A. shows in August 2023 exists, and no performances of “’tis the damn season” were filmed in Paris since it was taken off the permanent setlist completely. Even if Swift films more shows for footage to include in The Eras Tour movie in the future, it might complicate the continuity to bring back only one song from the old setlist just to cover her bases.
It wouldn’t be the same as her usual performance during the Evermore era, but at least the Swifties that didn’t get a chance to see “’tis the damn season” live pre-TTPD would be able to experience some version of it in The Eras Tour movie.
However, on the off chance she does film more shows, Swift could perform “’tis the damn season” as a surprise song during the acoustic set. It wouldn’t be the same as her usual performance during the Evermore era, but at least the Swifties that didn’t get a chance to see “’tis the damn season” live pre-TTPD would be able to experience some version of it in The Eras Tour movie.
There’s always room for more surprise song performances in The Eras Tour movie’s post-credits “Acoustic Collection,” and now that it’s off the setlist, “’tis the damn season” could be one of them.
It has yet to be seen whether Taylor Swift would simply add footage of the new TTPD set to the existing version of the movie on Disney+ or release an entirely new version showcasing the updated setlist and outfits. Either way, there’s always room for more surprise song performances in The Eras Tour movie’s post-credits “Acoustic Collection,” and now that it’s off the setlist, “’tis the damn season” could be one of them.
