VIRGIN RIVER’S EPIC TWIST – Vampire Diaries & Riverdale stars crash Season 7! 😱 First set pics drop – what’s brewing in this small-town shakeup? 👇

Here’s a sentence only true CW junkies will appreciate: Aunt Jenna and Moose Mason are moving to Virgin River.

Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Cody Kearsley (Riverdale) will recur in the Netflix drama’s upcoming seventh season, which is now officially in production.

Canning will play Victoria, an ex-cop who was shot in the line of duty and has since taken a job as an investigator for the state medical board. Season 6 ended with Doc’s medical license getting suspended, pending investigation, so it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that Victoria arrives to investigate his practice.

But here’s the part that really interests us: According to her official description, Victoria “runs into a friend whom she wouldn’t mind catching up with…or maybe more.” Who could it be?! Someone already in a relationship? A man? A woman? Our minds are positively racing with possibilities.

Kearsley’s character, a “tough” rodeo worker named Clay, has spent years looking for his younger sister with whom he grew up in foster care. They haven’t seen each other since he was a teenager, so she could be very well be someone we’ve already met. Again, any guesses?

While you’re busy theorizing, feel free to also peruse these first photos Netflix released from the set of Season 7:

As part of this announcement, Netflix also confirmed returning series regulars for Season 7: Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel, Martin Henderson as Jack, Tim Matheson as Doc, Annette O’Toole as Hope, Colin Lawrence as Preacher, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Brady, Zibby Allen as Brie, Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie, Marco Grazzini as Mike, Kai Bradbury as Denny and Kandyse McClure as Kaia.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith previously confirmed to TVLine that Mark Ghanime will not be back as Cameron. “He will always be a part of the world, and I would love to see his character back, but he won’t be a series regular in Season 7, unfortunately,” Smith told us.

A release date for Virgin River Season 7 hasn’t been announced, but with production only now beginning, it’s fair to say that we’ve got a while to wait. What are your hopes for the show’s return?
