The clip also featured Bill Withers’ Lovely Day, with the caption: “When the aunties come to celebrate… and to play! Love you @serenawilliams.”

Referring to upcoming cookery show With Love, Meghan, she added: “Three days until the party begins. All are invited @netflix.”

Meghan has 2.1million followers on her account, with her first post in January.

Former tennis champion Williams is a long-time friend of the duchess’ – with the pair having met at a Super Bowl party in 2010.

Describing their first meeting on her former blog The Tig, Meghan wrote: “Taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing and chatting not about tennis or acting but about good old fashioned girly stuff.”

The duchess also described how the pair “hit it off immediately” and from then on have continued to support each other through their chosen charity work and business ventures.

Ahead of Meghan’s appearance at Wimbledon in 2017, Serena said: “We have always supported each other, just been there for each other through a lot.”

It comes as royal journalist & author Robert Jobson said on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that Meghan’s series looks a “little dull”.

The eight-part With Love, Meghan, is set to air on Netflix on March 4, after being postponed due to the LA fires.

According to Netflix, With Love, Meghan will offer a fresh take on the lifestyle genre, blending practical food tips with candid conversations.

Robert shared on this weekly’s show: “I mean, it’s just like an advert for Waitrose or something It doesn’t do anything for me.

“It seems that everyone wants her to fail, but it would actually be quite a good story if it was a success.

“But I’m not overly inspired by it.

“It’s not exactly going to be something I’m going to be wanting to tune into, unless it was a professional thing to do.

“It’s just a little dull.”

The royal author pointed out that Prince Harry and Meghan have had some “big numbers” with their “royal bashing books and their royal bashing documentaries.”

Robert added: “Now they’re trying to do something, I suppose, that they tell us is all positive, and it just doesn’t seem particularly inspiring to me.”

Hello Magazine’s royal editor Emily Nash also featured on the episode and told The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson that a measure of success for the show will be “numbers.”

Robert added: “If the numbers are low, really low, it’s going to create that negative publicity that she probably doesn’t want.”

Emily reasoned: “Let’s not forget, she had a huge following for the TIG, her Instagram account that did very well for her.

“And if people who followed her for that are still invested now, then there’s potentially quite a big audience for it still.”

According to Netflix, With Love, Meghan will see the duchess sharing “personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlighting how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected”.

Their statement added: “She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”

COOKERY SHOW LAUNCH

The Netflix show will have 33 minute-long episodes featuring a host of Meg’s various Hollywood friends trying her simple, yet “elevated”, food.

A trailer for the programme showed Meghan, 43, inviting friends and famous guests to a California estate where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips.

Mindy Kaling, Daniel Martin and Meghan’s friend and Suits co-star Abigail Spencer are set to appear.

This comes as Meghan teased the launch of the show with behind-the-scenes clips of her dancing and preparing a variety of dishes.

Prince Harry was also seen making a cameo in the video.

The series is reportedly being made to complement her lifestyle brand As Ever, which Meghan announced last week.

The Duchess was forced this month to re-brand American Riviera Orchard – originally announced a year ago – due to trademark issues.

Why did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle step back as senior working royals?

PRINCE Harry has always wanted out of the Royal Family and the repercussions will be felt for years, an expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex has lived in California with his wife Meghan Markle since 2020 after they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals and moved across the pond.

Katie Nicholl, who is Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that Megxit did not come as a surprise to her.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, the commentator explained: “Anyone who knows Harry is aware he’s always wanted a way out of the Royal Family.

“He’s said multiple times on the record that he wished he’d never been born a prince.

“I think he really is living the life he wants to now. It’s very, very sad that it’s played out the way it has.”

In a statement made on the Sussexes’ Instagram account as they stepped back in 2020, the pair wrote: “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.

“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.

“It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.

“We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.

“This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.”
