Star Jayson Tatum shares about changing his diet after the NBA finals: ‘No more Popeyes’

The Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum realized last summer that he would have to give up a lot if he wanted to become the best player in the NBA.

What I learned

The Celtics lost to the NBA’s most experienced team, the Golden State Warriors, in the summer of 2017.

Tatum had a great playoffs in general, but the Finals were not his best game. Compared to the last three rounds, his scores went down in every area.

Tatum had to do a lot on offense during the playoffs, and it’s possible that the extra work wore him down at the worst possible time.

There is a case to be made that the Celtics had better players overall than the Warriors. However, Golden State’s smart veterans knew how to win on the biggest stages.

Making changes to his diet

Tatum learned a lot from the big difference between the teams. The 24-year-old recently talked about how he needs to change what he eats to get an edge over the competition going forward.

“That was one thing I wanted to change after the Finals, when I was so tired.” I told my trainer that I was thinking about getting rid of some foods in my diet. Anyone who knows me knows that I’ve never been limited in what I eat. I’m just looking for a way to get ahead. The goals are to eat consistently, get better nutrition, lose fat, and gain strength. getting someone to cook three meals a day for you.

Not as much hot food like french fries, and no more Popeye’s. Not at all, because I can start making any changes right away that will make my game better. “So it’s not going to be hard,” Tatum said.

Because of the long 82-game season and the tough nature of the playoffs, nutrition has become more important for peak performance as the game has changed.

The Duke graduate played a total of 3,174 minutes, which includes both the regular season and the playoffs. The game is mostly mental.

The edge can be seen.

Tatum wants to get better at defense this year after the team lost in the Finals and he thought about it.

Great two-way players finally have to deal with the problem of using a lot of energy on defense because they want to play defense at a high level. As of now, Tatum has been great.

In just under 37 minutes per game, the Celtics’ top scorer gets 30.8 points, 8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Because of injury, the squad is now 18-5 and in first place in the league.

Tatum is now in the lead for the MVP award after the first three months of the season. It looks like his new diet is helping him and his team.
