Cardi B announced her split with husband Offset on Instagram last week, saying that they ‘grew out of love.’

But from the sounds of things, it appears the Migos rapper still carries a torch for his estranged wife, whom he married 15 months ago.

‘He talks about wanting Cardi back,’ a source close to Offset told Us Weekly. ‘After she was done with him, she closed off to him romantically and it’s really bothering him. He wants her back.’

The I Like It star delivered the breakup news in an Instagram video December 4.

‘We are really good friends and we are really good business partners — you know, he’s always somebody that I run to, to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,’ she admitted.

‘And it’s nobody fault. I guess we grew out of love but we are not together anymore … It might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.’

Sounding emotionally drained, Offset responded with a comment on the video: ‘Y’all won’.

And then five days later he took to social media to air out his feelings, tweeting: ‘F*** YALL I MISS CARDI.’

The split between the Bodak Yellow rapper and the Migos star has ‘been really hard’ on both of them, a source told E! on Tuesday.

In recent days Cardi expressed that she still wants her space, and is busy with her work, and that her biggest concern is their five-month old daughter Kulture.

“She has her up and down moments where she thinks there could be a chance they can salvage their relationship,’ the source added, ‘but she’s also very upset over the cheating situation. She is very torn and is trying to stay focused on business matters right now.’

Offset’s alleged mistress apologized to Cardi right after the news broke of their breakup.

‘I have not messed with Offset since he had his baby. I didn’t know how serious his marriage was, you know … I feel ashamed,’ Summi Bunni confessed to TMZ.

Cardi B has become one of the biggest new stars in US music since the runaway success last year of her song Bodak Yellow, which touches on her former life making ends meet as a stripper.

The Bronx native went on to become the first female rapper to have had multiple number one songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Cardi first found recognition on the reality show Love & Hip Hop: New York, which she joined in 2015.
