NBA Veteran Calls Out Giannis Antetokounmpo’s “Lie” After Bucks Star’s Stunned Reaction Goes Viral

The Bucks destroyed the Knicks with a 146-122 win on their home court on Tuesday in the quarter-final of the In-Season Tournament. The win qualifies the Bucks for the semifinals. Giannis Antetokounmpo stood out as the star of the show, with dominance on the court that translated into 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists.

After the game, the 29-year-old star was interviewed. It was during this interview that Antetokounmpo found out an interesting fact about the tournament and this moment of realization has since gone viral. But NBA legend Lou Williams is not buying it.

Well, the Bucks star just learned that apart from getting a $500,000 cash prize for winning the tournament, players would be paid at least $100,000 for every game they won once they made it to the semifinals. In the interview, he seems starstruck at this piece of information, but Lou is not impressed at Giannis’ reaction as he calls it out as “acting.” He immediately says, “cap.”

Lou is sure that Giannis is bluffing; he says, “I think he knew about every level…Every time they introduce something new, somebody comes in and they sit the team down and they explain these things. I’m pretty sure that they were told.” Lou reminds everyone that they’re in the sports entertainment business and everything is about money so it is impossible for Antentokounmpo to not have been aware of the prize money.

The rich get richer
In the after-game interview with TNT Sports, the Bucks talisman was told by the interviewer that now that he has reached the semifinals, he would be paid $100,000 for every game, and a stunned Giannis replied with, “Are we getting money now?” After allegedly finding this out, all he had to say was, “Hey man, the rich get richer.”

Giannis Antentokounmpo is currently leading the team in points, rebounds, and steals, with averages of 30.2, 10.6, and 1.5 respectively. The Bucks are having a really good run, standing at 15-6 and leading the Central Division. They host the Pacers on Thursday for their second match-off of the season.
