MILWAUKEE BUCKS

The Milwaukee Bucks did not get the job done in Las Vegas, but superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo’s efforts have been recognized by the NBA, as he was named to the first-ever 2023 All-NBA In-Season Tournament (IST) Team.

Consistently phenomenal
The Bucks were a perfect 5-0 until they met their game in the semifinal round against the Indiana Pacers, where they eventually lost 128-119. The “Greek Freak” was magnificent in that contest as he tallied 37 points on 13-of-19 shooting, along with ten rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.

In six IST games, Giannis averaged 29.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game to earn a spot in the IST Team.

LeBron and AD headline the team

The Los Angeles Lakers won the IST title with a 123-109 win over the spunky Indiana Pacers last weekend. Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis were also named to the IST Team. LeBron averaged 26.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game and was named the IST’s Most Valuable Player.

Also getting spots on the selected team was Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton, who introduced himself to the mainstream with his spectacular play, especially in the semifinals when Indiana upended the title-favorites Bucks.

During the tournament, Haliburton showcased exceptional skills, averaging 26.7 points and a league-leading 13.3 assists. He displayed remarkable accuracy, with a shooting percentage of 52.4 from the field and an impressive 42.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Getting the last spot was Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, who averaged 34.5 points in four IST games.
