Rumors continue about the possible departure of Draymond Green to the Los Angeles Lakers

In Blogdebasket we already published it and the information continues in the same sense: the Angelenos, favorites to get the wayward Golden State Warriors player

Draymond Green suena para Los Angeles Lakers.

Draymond Green sounds for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The best basketball league in the world is full of speculation and the latest NBA rumors have revolved around the possibility of Draymond Green, a fundamental piece of the Golden State Warriors, landing in the Los Angeles Lakers. We already published this possibility on Blogdebasket days ago and now it is intensifying

Draymond Green’s indefinite suspension has forced the Golden State Warriors to look for internal solutions, relying on rookies like Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis to keep the team cohesive. Although this move initially brought success, with a five-win streak, subsequent inconsistency has led to questions about the team’s ability to compete for the title this season.

In the midst of this situation, suggestions of a possible agreement between the Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers have gained strength. Bill Simmons, well-known in the world of basketball, raised the idea on his podcast, proposing a trade that would involve Green and possibly players like Austin Reaves.

However, this scenario faces significant challenges. The Lakers are already facing congestion in their frontcourt and sacrificing key pieces, like Reaves, for a player like Green, might not be strategic for their current aspirations. Additionally, the Warriors, while they could consider trade options, will likely look for solutions that don’t compromise their future.

NBA MARKET

Despite persistent rumors, with speculation suggesting a possible adjustment in the NBA ranks, the reality is that a trade centered on Green seems more like a fantasy than an imminent reality. The Lakers are looking to improve in other areas, while the Warriors remain cautious about the direction they will take in building their team.

In this uncertain scenario, speculation remains just that: speculation. The possibility of a deal that brings Green to the Lakers remains an intriguing but unlikely idea in the current NBA landscape.

Lakers News: Why A Very Tradable LA Role Player Can’t Be Traded This Year

Rob Pelinka has other contracts to deal, thankfully.

Come January 15th, all of your Los Angeles Lakers inked to splashy new deals this summer will be trade-eligible… save one.

AP Source: Jarred Vanderbilt gets four-year contract extension from Lakers

That’s because current starting forward Jarred Vanderbilt signed his four-year, $48 million contact with Los Angeles after August 8th, effectively making him ineligible to be flipped in a trade until the 2024 offseason, thanks to some restrictive language in the league’s current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Since returning from a left heel bursitis injury earlier this year, the 6’8″ Kentucky product has been absolutely miserable on offense, scoring 2.6 points on .341/.071/.750 shooting splits, 4.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.7 steals. He remains one of LA’s better perimeter defenders (not a high bar to clear this year), but it hasn’t translated to terrific team defense lately.

Happily, Vanderbilt (who’s only making $4.6 million this year, the final season of his current contract) isn’t the only trade chip Los Angeles team president/GM Rob Pelinka has to play. Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, both signed to solid new eight-figure restricted free agent annual deals this offseason, will become trade-eligible on the 15th. D’Angelo Russell is trade-eligible now, but his generous $17.3 million salary could honestly be tough to flip, given his poor output last year.
