The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the No. 1 seed Boston Celtics 127-123.

Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 36 points on 14-for-22 shooting.

He also made three of his five three-point attempts and posted seven assists and six rebounds.

Oklahoma City would capture their 23rd win of the season and are No. 2 in the Western Conference.

Bayless took to X, formerly Twitter, and lauded Gilgeous-Alexander’s efforts on Tuesday as well as believing he’s the MVP of the league.

“SGA, 36 more in a home win over the NBA’s best team, the Celtics. SGA MVP,” he wrote.

NBA fans, whom have largely not been on Skip’s side when it comes basketball takes in the past, were impressed with his opinion on Gilgeous-Alexander.

One wrote: “Your best take yet!”

Another commented: “Can’t even disagree with this take!!”

And a third added: “I’m with you on this one.”

Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 30 points or more in eight of the last 10 games.

He’s averaging 31.4 points per game and 54.9% from the field along with 5.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists.

The 25-year-old will have some competition for the MVP.

Philadelphia 76ers big man and reigning MVP Joel Embiid, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic, and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic are among the favorites for the award.
