Anthony Davis made NBA history during Wednesday’s game.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the Miami Heat in California.

During the game, Anthony Davis made NBA history by moving ahead of Jermaine O’Neal (7,264) for 104th on the all-time rebounding list.

Following O’Neal, the next player for Davis to pass will be two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo (7,264).

Davis came into the evening with averages of 25.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 blocks per contest while shooting 55.1% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range in 32 games.

The Lakers are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 17-17 record in their first 34 games.

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and in the middle of a two-game losing streak.

Most recently, the Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans by a score of 129-109.

In 35 minutes of playing time, Davis had 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block while shooting 7/15 from the field.

He has scored at least 20 points in each of the previous six games.

Following the Heat, the Lakers will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday evening in Los Angeles.

At home, the Lakers are 11-4 in 15 games.

Davis was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of Kentucky and is in his 12th season in the league.

The 2020 NBA Champion has career averages of 24.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.3 blocks per contest while shooting 52.1% from the field.
