Like Brady, Curry seems to be aging like fine wine, continuing to be among the league’s elite at 35 years old.

It might still be too early in the season, but some folks have already given their predictions on which teams will meet in the Finals. Many of them probably have the reigning champs, the Denver Nuggets, coming out of the Western Conference, with the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers also getting some votes.

However, Lil Wayne thinks the Golden State Warriors will hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy. His reason? It’s never wise to count Stephen Curry out. The rapper even compared the superstar guard to NFL legend Tom Brady.

“When you count Steph out, it’s like how you used to feel when you count Brady out,” Lil Wayne told his son. “In them Patriot years where you just thought that they not gonna win, and then they’d be in the fu*king Super Bowl. That’s how it be feeling about Steph. Every time I’m ready to say, ‘Yeah, Steph’s starting to get old,’ That boy be right there in the Finals.”

The ageless “California Cool”

Brady is regarded by many as the greatest football player – and for good reason. The retired quarterback won seven Super Bowls and appeared in ten championship games. What’s impressive is that his first and last wins came 20 years apart. He got his maiden title in 2001, leading the New England Patriots when he was 24 years old. The final was in 2021, when he steered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 44.

It seemed like Brady only got better as he aged. He went to three straight Super Bowl bouts from 2016 to 2018, which Lil Wayne was presumably alluding to in his conversation with his boy.

The Tom-Steph connection

Like the surefire football Hall of Famer, Curry also seems to have maintained, if not improved, his play in his older years. He is still among the league’s elite at 35, and it doesn’t look like he is slowing down anytime soon.

Can he lead the Warriors to another Finals run? Not a lot of people would probably agree with Lil Wayne’s prediction.

However, only a few pundits also anticipated Golden State to take the championship home in 2022. So, it wouldn’t be surprising to watch Steph and the Dubs accomplish the same feat later in this campaign. The two-time MVP certainly likes their chances, asserting that his team’s title window is still wide open.
