While the Lakers are having a good start to the season with a winning record, things could get ugly with their star LeBron James if they aren’t careful

In the season opener, the Lakers fans were surprised to see their superstar LeBron James getting only 29 minutes, as they are used to seeing him playing bigger minutes than that.

Coach Ham revealed that this season they had a plan to limit James’ minutes to avoid risking him and getting the best out of his game, as the star is 38 years old.

So much for limited minutes. Through 5 games, LeBron’s actually playing more than he did last year. Hit by injuries, the team will take it. Especially with the way he’s is playing in the clutch: “I feel like in the 4th quarter, that’s when I’m at my best.”

While L.A. has been hit by the injury bug early, with Taurean Prince (left knee soreness) becoming a late scratch Wednesday and joining Rui Hachimura (concussion protocol), Gabe Vincent (left knee swelling) and Jarred Vanderbilt (left heel bursitis) on the mend, James has picked up the slack.

With LeBron James playing even more minutes than last season, the King would not be able to continue this rhythm and could get injured before the playoffs. It’s necessary for the team to manage LeBron’s minutes correctly.
