LeBron James just set a record that no one wants to break

Los Angeles, Beritasatu.com – LeBron James is listed as the all-time leading scorer in the NBA basketball tournament. However, it turns out that this LA Lakers basketball player just set an embarrassing record on par with star players in the NBA. He set a record as a player who lost the ball (turnover) more than 5,000 times.

This embarrassing record was created in the Lakers’ match against Phoenix Suns, WIB on Saturday (November 11, 2023). The match was won by the Lakers with a score of 122-119.

The record of more than 5,000 turnovers is inevitable for LeBron James, who has been with the NBA for 20 years. He is credited with making his first appearance in the NBA in the 2003/2004 season. Now he is 38 years old.

LeBron James, who is 2.06 meters tall, broke Utah Jazz star Karl Malone’s record of 4,525 turnovers set in 2021.

Turnover statistics are often not celebrated among the top NBA players of all time, such as John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson. However, this turnover statistic is unavoidable for basketball players in the defender position who handle the ball a lot.

Although records are expected to be broken, the closest active players to LeBron James’ record on the turnover list are Russell Westbrook and James Harden. But they probably don’t have a chance to exceed 5,000 in revenue based on their career trajectory.

Comparing his average turnovers per game, LeBron James has an average of 3.50, while Russell Westbrook has 4.06, James Harden has 3.73 and Kevin Durant has 3.17.

LeBron James has played significantly more games than any other basketball player, with 1,429 games in his 20-season career. Westbrook has played in 1,101 games and Harden in 1,002. Meanwhile, Kevin Durant is approaching this milestone with 994 games.
