He has frequently been spotted in the company of Parisian football icon Kylian Mbappé, and on Thursday, he officially confirmed his status as a devout PSG fan.
While making waves in his rookie NBA season with the San Antonio Spurs, Wembanyama has been a standout performer, boasting impressive averages of 18.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Despite his basketball success, he remains deeply connected to his football roots and openly supports Mbappé, who has been a significant influence on the rising NBA star.
Mbappé, acknowledging the admiration from Wembanyama, shared his thoughts in a May interview with Le Parisien, saying, “You don’t have to be a top athlete to know that this guy is special. What we can do is accompany him, support him, admire what he has already done and what he will do in the future.”
