Drivers said they were instructed to cover their license plates Reproduction/Instagram/@14dpleblon Cars belonging to American singer Taylor Swift’s entourage were seized after authorities received a report that the vehicles had their license plates covered in black plastic, according to the Rio Civil Police The case is investigated by the 14th Police Station in Leblon, in the south of Rio.

Drivers may be held responsible for the crime of hiding or tampering with vehicle identification signs.

A team from the police station went to the hotel where the artist is staying to investigate the case, which occurred last Thursday (16).

In a statement to the police, the drivers said they were instructed to cover their vehicle license plates to travel in exclusive lanes, according to the police. As there was no incident, the vehicles have already been returned.

Investigators requested footage from the hotel’s security camera to be analyzed. Taylor Swift has postponed her show in Rio de Janeiro until next Monday (20).

The reason, according to the artist, was the “extreme temperatures” in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, where the thermal sensation in recent days reached close to 60ºC. The day before, Ana Clara Benevides, 23 years old, died after falling ill at the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão.
