NBA – Wembanyama is in big trouble, video of chants echoing in the stands taunting him in the middle of the match against Spurs!

Wembanyama bids adieu to France with a defeat as the teen prodigy prepares for NBA career | The Hill

After a big defeat against the Pacers, the Spurs failed to reverse the trend at Madison Square Garden this Wednesday evening. Gregg Popovich’s men took on water again, with Victor Wembanyama in difficulty. The opposing fans took the opportunity to make fun a little.

Gregg Popovich’s Spurs are already going through a difficult period in the West. After defeats against the Raptors and the Pacers, the franchise was unable to bounce back this Wednesday evening in the Big Apple. Without Devin Vassell still absent, Victor Wembanyama’s teammates lost by a score of 105-126 against the Knicks. Jalen Brunson (25 points) shone while Evan Fournier did not play as usual.

First hiccup for Wembanyama

While Wemby was entitled to a standing ovation at his presentation, the Frenchman delivered a largely forgettable performance. He finished with 14 units at 4/14 shooting, 9 rebounds and 2 assists, as well as a -25 differential. We will remember an ugly 0/5 to start the game and two airballs, including one with three points.

He shot more than anyone tonight. He’s 0/5 shooting and has just released one of the worst airballs this place has ever seen.

Wembanyama managed to regain color afterwards, without saving the Spurs. It’s a heavy defeat on arrival for his first at MSG, even if the current state of San Antonio worries the supporters. We will have to give Popovich’s men time to get back on track, but reaching the playoffs will be complicated if nothing improves afterwards. There is no doubt that the return of Vassell should do good.

For now, it’s Wembanyama who finds himself a little criticized after his performance. He remains a 19-year-old rookie and it is therefore normal for him to have poor performances, but don’t count on Knicks fans to give him a gift.

“Overrated” chants come down from MSG to Wemby.

Bad evening for Victor Wembanyama. The Frenchman did not have a big match, but he must be especially disappointed with this fairly large defeat, where the Knicks were in the lead for 48 minutes. Wake up expected in the coming days.
