NBA – “To be 1m35 tall or the height of an alien Victor Wembanyama?? I love… ”

NBA Victor Wembanyama et Dereck Lively II

Size is a “major” asset in the NBA, it’s not Victor Wembanyama who would say the opposite.

But in everyday life, it is undoubtedly much more difficult to cope with being 2m24 tall. A Mavericks player just responded to a viral dilemma on this subject.

Victor Wembanyama is an alien. If he is not the first player nearly 2m25 tall in the history of the league, he is clearly the first to move with such fluidity.

Moreover, its extraordinary flexibility did not fail to create a buzz before the start of the season. As many players claim, he is actually a fullback in a giant body:

Derek Lively refuses to be 2m25!

However, would the other stars of the league exchange their physique for that of Victor Wembanyama?

This is more or less the question that was asked to the excellent Dallas rookie Derek Lively II, and his answer was immediate.

He already has difficulty supporting his 2m16, so living with 10 extra centimeters is absolutely out of the question.

He spoke on the “Tidal League” channel:

If I had to choose between being 1m35 or the height of Victor Wembanyama? I prefer 1m35! People who say the opposite don’t know that being over 2m10 is painful.

It’s boring and not practical. I can never hide, never do things discreetly, clothes don’t fit me, I don’t fit in a normal car and I don’t have room on commercial planes.

And if I don’t duck or pay attention, I’ll smash my head in all the doors!

And then all the showers reach my chest. I have to bend down to wash my face or hair, it’s incredibly disturbing! I prefer to be 1m35.

Here I am 2m16 and there are many advantages, but honestly there are at least as many disadvantages as positive things.

Advantage-wise, Derek Lively II is in the NBA today, which would not necessarily have been the case with 10 or 20 centimeters less.

On the other hand, once off the field, being so tall is obviously an ordeal, even torture.

Whether it’s showering or moving around, he has to make considerable efforts… Imagine the daily life of Victor Wembanyama, who is much taller than the Mavericks player.

Being very tall is necessarily practical on the field, since all the franchises in the league are looking for interiors over 2m10.

Once the match is over, however, Derek Lively visibly has more difficulty coping with his extraordinary physique.
