San Antonio is not achieving much this season, as one might expect. However, the Texan management of the case of Victor Wembanyama is controversial and some accuse the frankness of harming the nugget of the Blues.

An eminent American journalist notably released a major clarification on the subject recently.

With only victories for 23 defeats, the Spurs season is officially complicated.

The depth of play offered by Gregg Popovich’s men is difficult to see on many occasions, whether on offense or defense where the Texans are among the worst in the league.

But more than that, it is the sometimes lunar use of the pivot Victor Wembanyama which raises more and more questions.

Because if the first pick of the last draft is supposed to be the cornerstone of the Éperons roster, that doesn’t always show given that his teammates tend… to ignore him on the field.

In his last match against the Bulls, whom he had dominated a few days earlier, Wemby finished with only eight shots on the clock.

The former Mets therefore does not seem to hold a grudge against his teammates and it is obviously a very noble feeling, but the fact remains that it seems like a waste of his talent.

Especially since he is much more dominant since he played as a pivot, so why not emphasize him even more?

A question that torments many journalists, starting with Bill Simmons who let loose on his podcast:

I hope the Spurs will put together a trade to get a playmaker. I don’t know what they are doing this year. I don’t understand why they seem so happy to ruin Wemby’s first season and continue to put him in weird situations with players who don’t really seem to improve him.

There are a lot of playmakers available, they can take anyone, they can even take Monte Morris.

Just go get more playmakers and put the guy in a position to succeed.

Difficult to contradict the analyst when we know that Jeremy Sochan will probably never be a natural leader.

It remains to be seen whether San Antonio will listen to his advice…

Victor Wembanyama is supposed to embody the future of Spurs, but we still have difficulty seeing him in practice since the Frenchman sometimes ends matches with a number of attempted shots that borders on the ridiculous.

He may not want to get annoyed on the subject, but the French prodigy has the right to expect more.
