NBA – Really worried, LeBron’s cash request for the league:
“They have to do it like this.. (video)

Le commissioner de la NBA, Adam Silver (gauche), et la superstar des Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James (droite)

Given his experience and unique track record, LeBron James has been an unofficial spokesperson for players for years.

Recently, he spoke out on a worrying issue regarding the health of the league’s stars.

Despite his royal status on the circuit as well as his ease behind the microphones, he has paradoxically never been named president, or even vice-president of the players’ union.

This does not prevent LeBron James from having a voice of considerable influence in the NBA.

He therefore frequently is questioned on subjects related to his case or his team, on which he then gives his unfiltered opinion.

LeBron James’ request… on the Cavaliers floor

At 38 years old, LeBron must be particularly careful with his health.

Even more so given his persistent problem in his left calf, which did not prevent him from taking part in the Lakers’ victory against the Cavaliers on Saturday.

This, three days after the match between Cleveland and Miami, which saw young Dru Smith leave his partners due to injury:

Victim of a major sprain in his right knee, Smith will miss the entire season following his bad fall at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

A scene which brought back to the table the security aspect of this parquet, which covers the hockey field of the room and whose limits therefore leave room for a “chasm” of 25 centimeters, at the origin of the misfortunes of the back of the Heat. Something to enrage Erik Spoelstra:

It’s a dangerous floor. I don’t know the history of injuries that have been contracted here, but we had a few scares in previous years with closeouts of players in this corner of the field.

Fortunately, no one had gotten hurt so far, but it was an unavoidable accident. You do a close-out and suddenly you find yourself on the edge of a cliff. It’s so dangerous.

As soon as we saw him stay on the ground, we all knew that’s probably what had just happened.

Questioned subsequently about this field that he has walked on so often and which has hosted more than a thousand matches in these conditions, LeBron echoed the words of his former coach and addressed the NBA directly.

Joe Vardon of The Athletic reports:

Yes, the league should take a look. They should look into this problem.

Following Dru Smith’s serious injury, the Cavaliers floor finds itself more than ever at the center of attention for its dangerousness. Even LeBron James, who had unforgettable moments there, is calling for intervention from the league.
