NBA: LeBron James doesn’t hide it. He only went to the Miami Heat for one reason

LeBron James decided to join the Miami Heat just to win the NBA championship, according to his words quoted by the Associated Press. In 2010, he “transferred his talents” to Florida to, together with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, create a team that won two NBA championships and reached the NBA Finals four times in a row. After that time, however, he decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the summer of 2010, LeBron James found a way to join forces with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, creating a superteam that went to the NBA Finals for four consecutive years. James himself spent the best years of his career in Florida. Back then, the club didn’t openly talk about its work culture, but years later, James admits that all players worked hard to succeed – an approach passed on to them by club employees, including coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley.

James spent the first seven seasons in the NBA as a player of the Cleveland Cavaliers, before making the controversial decision in 2010 to leave his home state and go looking for his first championship in Miami. LBJ was public enemy No. 1 in Ohio at the time, and it seemed that fans would never forgive him for this betrayal. James himself has now admitted that he saw no hope for the Cavaliers to win a championship at the time.

— I was 25 years old when I got to Miami. I was still a kid, even though I had already had seven years in the league. I was still a kid. I only came to the Heat for one reason: I wanted to win a championship. That was my only goal. That’s why we teamed up with D-Wade and Bosh. “I felt like I couldn’t do it in Cleveland,” James said.

LBJ then emphasized that he did not receive support from those in management of the Cavaliers. — I tried to recruit players to Cleveland, I tried to go to the management and nothing happened. When it turned out that I would be a free agent, I decided that I had to do what was best for my career, he added.

In 2014 and after winning two NBA championships, James returned to Cleveland. Two years later, he won the club’s first championship in history. After another four years, when the Cavaliers were no longer able to provide him with enough good players around him, he decided to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom he won a title in 2020.
