Les légendes NBA LeBron James (gauche) et Kobe Bryant (droite)

LeBron James may be the best scorer in NBA history, but he is not necessarily put in the same offensive rank as Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant for example. Moreover, a former teammate of the King and the Mamba explained why.

As crazy as it may seem, LeBron James is not considered a “very great” forward by many observers.

He may be the best scorer of all time, he may have some unstoppable moves, but his name very rarely comes up in discussions on the subject, with enthusiasts preferring Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry or even Carmelo Anthony.

During his time in Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay”, former Lakers Trevor Ariza perhaps explained this phenomenon by making the comparison with Kobe Bryant. If the King is capable of dominating offensively, he does it in a very different way from those who are considered scoring legends.

Trevor Ariza cashes on LeBron and Kobe

Kobe is much harder to defend than LeBron because he never stops. LeBron never stops either, but in a different style. He will always do the right thing.

LeBron will drive you into the paint with his physicality and make the 3-point pass. Kobe will push you into the racket, do a feint, a second, will turn, do a feint again, and as soon as you jump he hits you for the basket with the foul.

Kobe wouldn’t even talk to you if he didn’t think you were on the path to success like him. And I understand because people who think alike attract each other. I understood even before meeting him. In the locker room, Kobe imposed his discipline without worrying about others. LeBron is more aware of what his teammates think. He’s cool with more people.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the best players in history, and they reached the heights with different methods on and off the court. According to Trevor Ariza, the King respects basketball no matter what and he will always make the right pass at the right time if a teammate is open. The Mamba on the other hand was more the type to go through with his action if he decided to do so.

The most important thing is that they have won everything in their career, proof that there is no single path to posterity. Finally, this testimony will not calm those who still claim that LeBron is not a killer like the Mamba and Michael Jordan could be, who liked to carry their team alone in certain situations.

LeBron James is a great attacker, but one who puts basketball before his personal domination. So if he has to make the pass for the good of his team, he does it. The Mamba took pleasure in driving his defenders crazy, as a soloist.
