NBA – Intrusion, arrest warrant: Steph Curry plunged into an incredible legal case

La superstar NBA des Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry

While his Warriors are going through a very delicate patch at the moment, Stephen Curry must also deal with some private concerns. He thus finds himself at the heart of an improbable investigation linked to an intrusion into his home.

The matches follow one another and are similar for the Warriors. Defeated in overtime by OKC a few days ago, Steph Curry and his teammates narrowly lost again this Tuesday, against the Suns (116-119).

Author of 24 points and quite clumsy (8/24 shooting, 4/15 at 3 points), the star leader had difficulty containing his frustration, which he even clearly showed in a negative sequence from his team:

The Suns’ 16-5 run pissed Curry off 😳

More negative than ever (10-13), Golden State has definitely been going through a tough period in recent weeks. Curry, for his part, tries as best he can to remedy this, despite a private life where everything does not go in an idyllic manner either.

Arrest warrant issued for international student who broke into Steph Curry's home

In the columns of CBS News Bay Area, Tim Fang revealed the astonishing story in which the Chef found himself last October, and which has continued since:

An arrest warrant has been issued for an exchange student from China who is accused of breaking into the San Mateo County home of Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry in October.

In a statement, prosecutor Steve Wagstaffe’s office said Sheng Gao, 18, was scheduled to take the stand last Thursday for his arraignment.

Gao failed to appear in court and a judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

Reading these words, some might think that the accused went to the two-time MVP with bad intentions. It ultimately turns out that he was simply looking to obtain… an autograph from his idol:

At around 5:50 p.m., he appeared in front of the gate, rang the bell before the gate opened. Gao then entered the property and passed through the unlocked front door.

Confronted by a nanny who asked him what he was doing there, he reportedly replied that he wanted Curry’s “signature”. (…) At the time of the incident, Steph and his wife Ayesha were not at the scene, unlike their children. No items were reported stolen.

In addition to the Warriors’ misfortunes, Stephen Curry must have felt a strange feeling when he learned that a stranger had entered his home. All this, even though he had left his children there with a simple nanny. The kind of experience that leaves its mark.
