Anthony Davis et Victor Wembanyama

LeBron James absent, Anthony Davis was able to rub shoulders with Victor Wembanyama for the first time this Wednesday. The two men fought a great battle, but with a lot of respect. The Laker also had a beautiful message for his counterpart.

Author of a big match against the Lakers this Wednesday, Victor Wembanyama was not far from victory with his Spurs. Frustrating for the interior, which however continues to shine in its pivotal role. Anthony Davis was also able to face him for the first time, and we can say that he was undoubtedly impressed by his performance. It’s a shame that victory wasn’t at the end.

Wembanyama praised by Anthony Davis

However, Wemby made a strong impression against the Lakers. The Lakers had to struggle to recover this victory and react after a defeat against Dallas. In front of the media a few minutes after the buzzer, Davis spoke about Victor’s game. He was won over by the Frenchman’s performance, which according to him reminds us why he was selected number 1 in the last draft.

Anthony Davis on Victor Wembanyama: “He is extremely talented, a very good scorer as we saw this evening. There has been a lot of talk about him overseas, how he came to the league and now. His team is struggling but he plays very well and allows them to stay in the matches. They play very good basketball. He showed why he is the number 1 pick in the draft and a candidate for rookie of the year tonight.

And we can understand Davis, since Wemby hurt the Lakers very badly during the majority of the match. He allowed Spurs to stay alive, and even make a comeback in the final minutes thanks to two winning shots… on Unibrow’s head. The victory is not there, of course, but the Frenchman does not have much to reproach himself for when we see his match.

This duel was in any case very fun for the fans, knowing that the two will meet again on Saturday for a new meeting between the Lakers and Spurs. The perfect opportunity for Gregg Popovich’s men to take their revenge.

Anthony Davis really liked the play proposed by Victor Wembanyama, close to giving victory to Spurs. One more compliment for the Frenchman, who undoubtedly hopes to cross paths with LeBron James on Saturday. Looking forward to this match.
